The Future Focus Project, which is a new participatory photography project featuring 3, 14-week courses and an exhibition of participants work in September/October 2017.
For this project we have partnered with The Bridge Collective CIC and Mind in Exeter & East Devon and throughout this project and workshops we'll be exploring the themes of positivity, empowerment and looking to the future.
This project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and will run until September/October 2017, all of these participatory photography courses are totally FREE to attend and open to anyone.
Here are some of the activities that will be taking place:
- Create a photographic theme Positivity, Empowerment or The Future
- Create your own personal photo-story, theme or portfolio of images
- Take part in innovative photo-dialogue exercises
- Learn and develop basic camera skills
- Photography trip to Poltimore House
- Mystery tour of Exeter!
- Learn how to plan your photography project
- Work in a safe environment within small groups
- Curate images for an exhibition
- Take part in a fun and creative activity
How long do they last?
Each workshop will last for 3-hours and will be a mix of photo-dialogue exercises, learning about photography, photography trips to and photography homework presentations.
How do I sign up?
Although the courses we run are FREE we still need participants to put their name down in advance .This is so we don't overbook and run out of room! Find the link for the next course at the bottom of the page.
The Big Lottery Fund gives grants to organisations in the UK to help improve their communities. The money awarded comes from the UK National Lottery.
The Bridge Collective CIC - is a democratic community where people who have experiences, beliefs, and feelings that have sometimes been labelled as mental illness are welcomed and can talk about these experiences freely, safely and without judgement
Mind in Exeter & East Devon- Promote emotional and mental wellbeing, challenge stigma and discrimination and empower individuals through positive recovery-focused services and projects.
