Walking with Cameras is a 4-year project based in Exeter that will provide 64 photo walks in and around Exeter and Devon.  These walks are around 2-3 hours in length and can incorporate landscapes, historical sites, museums and living history projects. The group will normally consist of around 20-25 people, there is also limited space on a minibus if the destination requires it. There is no requirement to have the latest equipment, but some form of camera is better or even just the camera on a phone. Participants are then encouraged to share their photographs in Meridan Raw's Flickr gallery although this is not compulsory. Meridian Raw CIC | Flickr

To date we have had over 500 participants on our photo walks, and we expect this number double with the remainder that we have scheduled for 2023 with Eventbrite

The aim of these walks is to empower people through photography and encourage them to explore their area with new insight and outlook.  With this in mind we look to engage participants in a safe and friendly way and bring communities together. All the walks are assessed prior to the event and details are then given in the Eventbrite listing. There is the opportunity for anyone to enjoy and develope their skills in photography, there is no pressure to attain any level of experience but just to enjoy the surroundings and taking photos. Meridian Raw CIC uses participatory photography to encourage people to intergrate with others on a like minded path.
