Developing Lives is a participatory film photography project in Exeter that will provide 4, 8-week photographic programmes, that will engage with 60 participants This project has been funded by National Lottery Awards for All England
This project will be for people in & around Exeter who have lived experience of mental health problems, are experiencing social isolation or experiencing other social challenges. It aims to be a catalyst for social change & has been developed from our digital participatory photography work across Devon.
Each participant in Developing Lives will have continuous access to a 35mm film camera & will be provided with 3 rolls of black & white film, take part in 2 photography/community trips, have 2 darkroom sessions & receive 28 hours of social interaction & creativity. Those taking part in the photography programme will learn basic camera skills, develop film processing & printing techniques, build a portfolio of personal printed images, go on photography trips, work in a safe environment within small groups and be part of an immersive & creative activity.
