Photo 57 Project
Photo 57 was a FREE 8-week participatory photography project that focuses on gratitude and thankfulness.
This project will enabled participants to take pictures of subjects that they are grateful for and create their own photo-story or photographic theme and build a portfolio of images.
Over the 8-weeks participants you will take part in the following activities:
These workshops took place at Exeter Community Centre and begin on Thursday 27th April and will finish on Thursday 22nd April. All workshops will ran from 2pm - 5pm.
Photo 57 is an Exeter based project that uses photography as a means of engagement and empowerment and is managed by Meridian Raw CIC and part funded by Recovery Devon, who are an independent community of people of good will who support Recovery and wellbeing; both as a personal vision and as an underpinning value base to promote radical change in mental health attitudes and provision.
The main aims of this Photo 57 is to provide the opportunity for communities to come together in a creative project and develop a portfolio of images on gratitude and a personal photography project on a subject of their choice. Furthermore, it is intended for this project to provide a platform for participants to reflect upon everyday experiences, interactions or objects for which they are grateful.
We believe that this can help people to notice the positives in their lives and to foster and share their hopes for the future and we are aiming for this process to play an important role in supporting people to regain meaning, to learn new skills, develop relationships with others and to encourage social inclusion
